ポピュラー文化がアジア的なアイデンティティーの形成に果たす役割を理解するための共同研究の一端として、本プロジェクトは、「華流」と「日流」の事例から、アジアに進出したトレンドが、翻って発信国の人々のライフスタイルとアイデンティティーの再生にどのような影響を及ぼすかを探る。

A project that aims to extend our understanding of the role popular culture plays in the formation of Asian identities, this collaborative research highlights how Asian trends abroad influence peoples’ styles of life back home. In this project affiliates will delve into their respective case studies om the impact of Chinese and Japanese trends in other Asian societies, and the manner in which the popularity of these trends reinforces national and international identities back home.

本研究では、営利重視の企業経営とは異なる視点から企業の今後のあるべき姿・目的観を考察し、また2010年に本格策定される国際SR規格ISO26000の導入によって起こりうる企業を中心としたSR活動の変化の推測を行うことで、今後の組織に求められる社会的責任の在処を問うものである。

This project aims to seize ideal and goal of enterprises, which are different from existing profit-oriented management, and also to pursuit how the international ISO26000 guidelines on CSR, that will be introduced in 2010, could effect SR activities of organizations and analyze social responsibility of organizations in the future.

公共空間としてのホテル　
—アジアの「グランドホテル」を中心として—
Hotel: A cultural Institution / Public Space--on Grand Hotels in Asia

この調査研究は、文化・文明論の視点から、「近代的制度」であるホテルを「公共空間」として捉えなおす試みである。経営学や観光・余暇の面からの研究蓄積はあるが、「宮廷生活」「ブルジョワ的理想生活」、その現代的「大衆化」という生活の「儀式化」に着目した研究は類例がない。この点を実態調査も含めて明らかにする。

This research project aims to re-situate the structure and the meaning of ‘hotel,’ an exemplar institution of modernity, as a public sphere, from a cultural-civilizational perspective. The institution of hotel is deeply related to the modern and mass application of‘courtly life-style’ and ‘form of life among bourgeois.’This project also pays attention to the ritualization of life-style in the world today.

キルギス知識人の形成
—歴史の中でのキルギス知識階級の自由—

ビデオ会議システムでビシュケクと東京の会場を結び、激動するキルギス知識人の歴史と現状をテーマに現在キルギスで活躍する研究者による連続公開講演を実施。知識人と民主化等の社会の変化について新たな視覚からの考察を目指す。成果のキ・日での公刊を予定。

Series of lecture on the turbulent history and circumstances of the clerisy in Kyrgyzstan by scholars in Bishkek will be provided in video conference styled lectures between Bishkek and Tokyo. These lectures try to make insights on the matters between clerisy and changes of society as well as lifestyles, including democratizing, with new perspectives through the cases in Kyrgyzstan. The fruits of these lectures will be published at Bishkek 2008 and Tokyo 2009.

海外の日本語教師体験
—インターンシップ及び日本語教育実習として—
Oversea Japanese Teaching Internship and International Practical Training of Japanese Teaching

日本語教員養成課程は海外日本語教育インターンシップとして、10人をキルギス国立民族大学、中国青島求実職業技術学院等に、グローバルアジア研究科国際日本語教育では国際日本語教育実習として、4人をキルギス国立ビシュケク人文大学に派遣してきた。その活動報告としてシンポジウム（7月12日）開催と報告書作成を企画している。

The Japanese-teacher training course, through a project of oversea Japanese teaching internship, sent 10 undergraduates to Kyrgyz National University and Qingdao Qushi Shokugyou Gigyutsu Gakuin (job training school) in China. Also, the International Japanese Teaching at the Graduate School of Globalising Asia, which forms the international on-the-job training course on Japanese teaching, dispatched 4 graduate students to Bishkek Humanities University of Kyrgyz. On this project, we present these activities through a symposium (July 12) and report.
